Grey squirrels can not be let back into the wild after capture as they are not native to the UK.   It is currently illegal to keep or release grey squirrels so careful thought has to be given before rescuing them.

But for our little squirrel, if he is able to gain his strength, we will take him to a wildlife rescue centre where he can live out his days.

In the meantime we are nursing him here and giving him plenty of warmth, a quite environment (he needs lots of sleep!) and all the food he can eat.   At the moment this is being fed by a neonatal feeding teat.  He is a bit tricky to handle and squirrels have very sharp teeth of course!   But he is being wriggly rather than anything else.

Get better soon.
