Experience
Having been born and bred in a farming community in Yorkshire, I spent my childhood dreaming of becoming a veterinary surgeon. I began assisting the local vet with cow caesareans at my local farm from the age of 7 and have been involved in work with animals ever since! I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College with honours in 2005 and started my first job in a mixed practice in Harlow, Essex. I saw a wide variety of species in this practice, from hamsters to horses and also the odd llama! I, however, discovered very quickly that my passion was in small animal surgery. After 2 years, I decided that I wanted to concentrate on small animal work only. This enabled me to concentrate on my love for surgery, giving me the opportunity to gain further skills in both soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. I joined Millennium Veterinary Practice in February 2011. I wanted to bring new ideas and enthusiasm to the practice whilst further developing my surgical skills. I feel that I am so lucky to be working and learning from such an experienced and knowledgeable team of vets and nurses.  In 2018 I became an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery.  I am Head of Soft Tissue Surgery here at Millennium for our first opinion and referral clients.

Interests
I gained the European GP Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2012 and my RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2013.   This has allowed me to take my surgery skills to another level.

Activities
In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym and have 2 lovely young children, a wonderful cocker spaniel and a tortoise.
