Carol Hudson
Accounts Manager

Experience: I started my nursing career in 1986 at Farrow & Bayer and then progressed to the position of Head Nurse in 1989, which I held for 5 years. At that time we had a mixed practice and I enjoyed caring for the large animal sector as well as our companion pets. Over time the practice grew and became ‘Farrow, Bayer, Garrett & Freeman’. Before joining the practice I was employed at 17 as an accounts assistant/office junior in Halstead and have a passion for numbers, therefore it was a natural progression with my nursing/ veterinary practice experience to take the role of Practice Manager where I could satisfy all my passions and add value to the practice. My role ranged from helping to ensure we were giving the best possible service to preparing financial accounts and taking the daily post!  I was awarded the Petplan, Veterinary Practice Manager of the Year Award in 2016 after being nominated by members of staff and clients.  An amazing surprise which coincided with working in the practice for 30 years and the practice's own 50th anniversary!  I now enjoy my role as practice Accounts Manager which I took on in 2018.

Interests: Outside of work my husband and I enjoy being members of our local football club, Notley Youth FC, which now holds 13 youth teams and a senior team. This is a very satisfying voluntary role which we feel enables all children to enjoy football.

Activities: I married Martin in 1989 and had 2 boys Simon and Scott in 1992 and 1995. My eldest son Simon is now studying Sport Science at Brighton University and Scott is about to begin Golf Academy at Brightlingsea and Frinton. He has just been appointed Junior Captain at Braintree Golf Club. We are all owned by a one year old grey, beautiful cat called Skye, who was rehomed from the practice! As you can see I have worked at the now named ‘Millennium Veterinary Practice’ for more than 30 years and have managed to enjoy a good work/ life balance and am amazed when I look back at how the practice has grown. I am very proud to have been a part of it all, and continue to be.
